I’ve seen these at Costco before and resisted buying them in order to avoid eating them!
But today they had me at sample.
I always used to nag my dad to buy me a fresh coconut at the fruit market.
Besides reminding me of Hawaii (my favorite place on earth), coconuts fit into my category of Godly Foods—along with mangos, avocados, eggs, and a few others.
These high fiber, soft and delicious treats are not too sweet, and are packed with rich, coconutty flavor. Definitely worthy!
Even Mr. Picky loves them. (Yay)
This is what 42 grams looks like:
I highly recommend for putting out when you have company.
But definitely not to start a habit of snacking on them instead of fresh fruit or other natural foods; think of them more as an occasional treat.
If you don’t think you can manage this don’t buy them!
You’ll find them in the dried fruit aisle at Costco; $8.99 for an 18oz bag.

I am also addicted to these – but was told that Costco no longer has it in stock
Costco carries the fruit on and off.
Does anyone have a recipe to toast the coconut like Trader Joes does? Lightly salted and sugard
Sorry Sally, I don’t have a recipe, but if I come across one I’ll let you know. Those Trader Joe’s coconut chips are to die for! Perhaps if you shaved fresh coconut and sprayed it with Trader Joe’s Coconut Oil Spray, a little salt and sugar and roasted it you’d get something similar. Hmmm. I might have to try that myself!
Found Philippine Brand Dried Young Coconut at World Market and loved it! When I returned to stock up, I discovered that they are no longer carrying it (dried mango only)! Searched Costco, Trader Joe’s, Whole Foods, Fresh Market – in other words, everywhere I go – but no one seems to carry it! Does anyone know where, in the Cleveland, OH area (44122), I might find it….Love the texture and the fact that it’s not too sweet…. Thank you.
Hi Diane, I know… it is SO delicious!! Did you try Amazon? I also highly recommend the Coconut Chips at Trader Joe’s (see my Trader Joe’s shopping List). Not soft and tender like the Philippine Brand, but soooo tasty, and also not too sweet. If you love coconut I bet you’ll like those too! Let me know what you think… Best, Orna
I just found the coconut and mango at Target!
Orna, which Target did you find the Philippine Brand Dried Coconut? I used to buy it at Costco and I’m so sad that they don’t carry it there anymore.
Hi Frances, it was probably at the Woodland Hills Target – or West Hills or Topanga Mall. Let me know if you find it! Good luck. 🙂
I got mine at Costco and became an addict. Costco just discontinued them. Now I’m stuck ordering them from Amazon for a grossly inflated price! Does anyone know where can I get them cheaper?
Jut a note, I defy anyone to find this product at Costco. It is not available at any store I have ever visited. (about 20 of them)
